Some conditions of the retina (the specialized nerve layer lining the back of the eye) may cause changes in vision. Examples include macula holes, epiretinal membranes and diabetic eye disease (which may cause internal bleeding). In many cases, these conditions can be successfully treated with surgery or laser to the retina.
